PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a single plate type image projector where the generation of a color breaking phenomenon can be more suitably prevented without complicating modulation control. SOLUTION: The image projector is equipped with: a color wheel 2 which color-resolves light from a light source 1 into the three colors of RGB, and successively emits them on a DMD (digital micromirror device) 4; a projection lens 7 which emits the light of the three colors of RGB made incident from the DMD 4, so as to project an image; three reflecting parts 5R, 5G, 5B which reflect only one color, respectively among the light of the three colors of RGB emitted from the DMD 4; and a semitransparent mirror 6 which reflects the light of the three colors of RGB respectively reflected by the three reflecting parts 5R, 5G, 5B toward the projection lens 7. The three reflecting parts 5R, 5G, 5B are composed so as to be arranged in such a manner that, when the light of the three colors of RGB is reflected toward the projection lens 7 by the semitransparent mirror 6, at least the light of the R color and the light of the G color are reflected toward the projection lens 7 at almost the same timing.
