PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a production method of a particulate metal oxide derivative in which an inorganic fine particle in a nano-order level with excellent dispersibility in a resin can be obtained. SOLUTION: An objective particulate metal oxide derivative is obtained by preparing a particulate metal oxide solution containing a particulate metal oxide (A) at a concentration of 30 to 70 wt.%, adding a metal compound (B) having one or more alkoxy groups to this solution and reacting the resulting solution with at least one part of a surface hydroxy group of the particulate metal oxide (A), and then adding a compound having a chemical bonding ability (C) with the metal compound (B) to the particulate metal oxide solution containing a reactant of the particulate metal oxide (A) and the metal compound (B) and reacting the mixture with at least one part of the metal compound (B).
