PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for manufacturing an expanded metal product, which apparatus can remarkably improve its productivity. SOLUTION: A method for manufacturing an expanded metal product comprises a first step of arranging a slit making roll 3 for making long slits S zigzag in the carrying direction of a workpiece W, a second step of arranging a widening roll 5 for widening the workpiece W in the direction of the width, and a third step of arranging a rolling roll 9 for rolling the workpiece W. Slitting blades 31 of an upper slitting roll 3 and slitting blades of a lower slitting roll to be used in the first step form the slits S by inserting the cutting edges formed on the corner portions of their side surface portions into each other. The upper widening roll 5 to be used in the second step has tilting grooves 51 having reversed tilting angles with respect to the central portion in the width direction, and guides the workpiece W so as to be widened.
