A novel fabric has insert edges (35, 36) with an inserted weft thread end section (38), in which at least one field with warp threads and alpha-numeric characters, logos or color(s) is woven onto a base fabric (40) having weft threads (37). The ends of the inserted weft thread end section are within the field and optically invisible. A novel fabric has insert edges (35, 36) with an inserted weft thread end section (38), in which at least one field with warp threads and alpha-numeric characters, logos or color(s) (especially an advertizing medium or marking) is woven onto the side of a base fabric (40) having weft threads (37). The width of the field is such that the ends of the inserted weft thread end section are located within the field and optically invisible. The warp threads of the field are located in region(s) of the field containing the inserted weft thread end sections and its ends. At least the ends of the inserted weft thread end sections are of the same color.
