IMPLICIT RESERVATION OF RESOURCES IN A COMMUNICATION NETWORK OF POINT-TO-MULTIPOINT OR MULTIPOINT-TO-MULTIPOINT TYPE

A communication network of point-to or multipoint-to-multipoint type comprises at least one management centre and remote traffic stations between which have been established radio links sharing resources dynamically allocated by the management centre. Each traffic station is in charge, when it needs additional resources to increase the useful traffic (TU) that it has to transmit to the management centre, of supplementing the useful traffic in progress (TU) with a first traffic (TL), termed smoothing traffic and which is representative of a chosen margin, and a second traffic (TA), termed anticipatory and which is representative of anticipation of its need for additional resources, so as to implicitly invoke the management centre, then of determining whether additional resources have been allocated by the management centre, and, should additional resources have been allocated, of effecting an increase in the useful traffic (TU) corresponding at most to the sum of the resources corresponding to the first traffic (TL) and allocated additional resources.
