A method for driving a discharge display panel according to an accumulated driving time is provided to extend lifespan of a green phosphor layer by reducing colliding ions on the green phosphor layer. A unit frame of image data is divided into plural sub-fields. Each of the sub-fields is divided into reset, address, and sustain periods, such that a discharge display panel is driven according to the periods(S2). Sustain pulses are alternately supplied to the sustain and scan electrode lines during the sustain period. When an accumulated driving time of the discharge display panel exceeds a predetermined time(S3), a bias voltage level with the same polarity as the sustain pulses is supplied to green address electrode lines of the address electrode lines during the sustain period(S4).
