PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To assemble rail parts and rail guide parts highly precisely without causing any play in a mobile information terminal to be opened/closed by sliding its cover with respect to a terminal main body. SOLUTION: The mobile information terminal 1 includes: the terminal main body 2; the cover 3 movable between a first position for covering a first principal face of the terminal main body 2 and a second position for exposing the first primary face; and a slide mechanism 4 for fitting the cover 3 to the terminal main body 2 in a slidable way between the first and second positions. The slide mechanism 4 comprises the rail parts 51, 52 provided on one of the terminal main body 2 and the cover 3, and the rail guide parts 53, 54 provided on the other and with which the rail parts engage. Each of the rail parts is formed by applying outsert forming to both sides of a first metal-made base plate by a resin, and each of the rail guide parts is formed by being fit to a second metal-made base plate by rivets.
