PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shot peening method of a precious metal product, heightening the surface hardness of a precious metal product with high purity. SOLUTION: In this shot peening method of a precious metal product, projection material is projected on a precious metal product manufactured by precious metal alloy to harden the surface of the precious metal product. Peening processing is conducted at least under the projection conditions that the average grain size of projection material is 150 to 250μm, the coverage is 100 to 10,000%, the projection amount is 0.07 to 8.68 (kg/min) and the projection air pressure is 0.1 to 0.3 (MPa).
