PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a metallic thin film, by which the metallic thin film can be formed at a low cost. SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing the metallic thin film comprises the steps of: adding a reducing agent to an organic solvent containing protective colloid which comprises at least one amine selected from 5-20C amines and at least one carboxylic acid selected from 4-30C carboxylic acids, and a noble metal ion and agitating them; removing the excessive protective colloid and the excessive organic solvent to obtain a metallic nanoparticle; spraying a liquid containing the obtained metallic nanoparticle on a substrate to form the metallic thin film; and heat-treating the formed metallic thin film.
