<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ion conductive polymer electrolyte membrane that can be suitably used in a fuel cell, and a production method thereof. <P>SOLUTION: The ion conductive polymer electrolyte membrane 11 (electrolyte membrane 11) comprises an aromatic polymer membrane 12 formed from a composition containing an aromatic polymer. Part of the aromatic polymer membrane 12 is provided with an introduction part 13 in which an ionic dissociation group is introduced to the aromatic polymer. The production method of the electrolyte membrane 11 includes: a preparation step for preparing the composition; a solidifying step for solidifying the composition to form the aromatic polymer membrane 12; and an immersion step. In the immersion step, the aromatic polymer membrane 12 is covered with a protection member such that a portion of the aromatic polymer membrane 12 corresponding to the introduction part 13 is exposed. Then, by immersing the aromatic polymer membrane 12 in a solution containing the ionic dissociation group, the ionic dissociation group is introduced to the aromatic polymer at the portion corresponding to the introduction part 13. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
