<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus in which a developer carrier can be made into a state that being released from the depression to an image carrier in a state that an opening/closing cover is opened. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus is provided with: a drive input member 401 integrally disposed with a translation cam member 310; a motor drive mechanism 402 used to input the drive force of a motor 406 to the drive input member 401; and a cover drive mechanism 403 used to input a force to the drive input member 401 in order to move the translation cam member 310 in synchronization with the opening operation of a front cover 9. In a state that the front cover 9 is closed, the drive input member 401 is moved to a pressing position and a releasing position by an input from the motor drive mechanism 402 to the drive input member 401. When the front cover 9 is opened, the transmission of the drive force from the motor drive mechanism 402 to the drive input member 401 is stopped. Then, a developing roller is separated from a photoreceptor drum by moving the translation cam member 310 to the releasing position by an input from the cover drive mechanism 403. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
