PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image recorder and an image recording method in which appropriate impact control and density correction is made even when the conveyance direction of a recording medium meanders and skews in the way of conveyance and image recording can be performed according to this appropriate correction. SOLUTION: A predetermined record pattern 4 is read in by an image input unit 5 and image data is outputted to a trace line detecting section 16. The trace line detecting section 16 detects an impact dot conveyance trace line. By using this impact dot conveyance trace line, an impact position correcting section 13 corrects the impact position of ink to a recording medium 7 by nozzles in nozzle arrays 2 and 3 in the direction intersecting the nozzle arrays 2, 3 perpendicularly, a repeated color impact position correcting section 14 corrects the impact position of ink of a plurality of colors, and a seam correcting section 15 corrects uneven density caused by the seam of the nozzle arrays 2 and 3.
