PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To evaluate distortions etc., of an image obtained in a simple manner, when an object is observed through spectacle lenses. SOLUTION: Entrance pupil position of an imaging optical system for imaging the object to be observed is arranged at the turning center position of the human eye or the entrance pupil position of the human eye assumed, when spectacles are put on and the object of the observation is imaged by the imaging optical system through the spectacle lens to evaluate distortions of an image formed by the spectacle lens. The imaging optical system has an imaging element, and an imaged observation image or the distortions information obtained, based on the image, is displayed. The entrance pupil position of the imaging optical system is arranged at the entrance pupil position of the human eye, the imaging optical system is turned at the turning center position of the human eye, and the object is imaged by the imaging optical system and the distortions of the image formed by the spectacle lens are evaluated.
