PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image projector having excellent durability in rotating members at a high speed for changing light irradiated from a light source to each color of R, G, B. SOLUTION: The image projector is equipped with: a spectral prism 2 of dispersing light irradiated from a light source 1 and emitting the same; a filter 3A of passing each color light of R, G, B in the dispersed light; a rotary shielding plate 4 having a plurality of slits 4A; an optical path regulation prism 5 of refracting each color light passed through the slit 4A and performing regulation in such a manner that the optical path of each color light is made equal, so as to emit the same; and a DMD (digital micromirror device) 7 of modulating each color light emitted from the optical path regulation prism 5. The side of the emission face 2B of the spectral prism 2 is alternately provided with a light emission part 3B from which each color light passed through the filter 3A is emitted, and a non-emission part 3C from which light is not emitted along the circumferential direction of the rotary shielding plate 4, and, when one slit 4A passes through the surface of the light emission part 3B, the other slit 4A passes through the non-emission part 3C.
