PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a swaging method with which the durability of a guide can be improved. SOLUTION: A diameter-enlarging planned part 2 of a bar-like blank 1 is set in an inserting hole 23 of the guide 20 by using the guide 20, a receiving die 11 and a cylindrical peripheral wall member 30 and also, the diameter-enlarging planned part 2 of the blank 1 projected from the blank outlet part 24 in the guide 20, is received with a receiving face 12 in the die 11. Successively, while pressing the diameter-enlarging planned part 2 of the blank 1 in the axial direction, the guide 20 is shifted in the reverse direction to the pressing direction of the diameter-enlarging planned part 2 of the blank 1 and also, the peripheral wall member 30 is following shifted to the movement of the guide 20 under state of abutting so as to surround the blank outlet part 24 at the tip end face 22 of the guide 20. In this way, in a forming cavity 17 formed with the tip end face 22 of the guide 20, the receiving face 12 of the receiving die 11 and the inner peripheral face of the peripheral wall member, the diameter-enlarging planned part 2 of the blank 1 exposed between the tip end face 22 of the guide 20 and the receiving face 12 of the receiving die 11, is enlarged to this diameter and the material of the diameter-enlarging planned part 2 is filled up in the forming cavity 17.
