PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a file transfer system, capable attaining an optimum file transfer quantity control suited to the situation in file transfer using a network by balancing the file transfer and a load by operation of a computer. SOLUTION: A file transfer function 2 of the computer 1 has a computer load detecting function 3 and a file transfer quantity control function 6, detects the load of the computer 1 by the function 3 in transferring a file in a data file 4 of the computer 1 to the network 5, determines a load by operation of the computer 1 from it, and reduces, when the determined load exceeds a threshold, the file transfer quantity according to the load by operation of the computer 1.
