PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently and accurately recognize a character in a medical image different in format types. SOLUTION: This information processor for medical use stores a dictionary image for recognizing the character in the character image under one character condition. When the object image of a character recognition object is input, the information processor specifies a format of the object image (step S1), and specifies a position and the character condition of the character image included in the object image, based on the specified format (step S2). The character image included in the medical image is associated with the character condition in the stored dictionary image, in response to the specified character condition (step S3), and an image area of the specified character position is extracted to be binarized (step S5). The character of the character image included in the medical image is recognized using the dictionary image associated with the character condition, in a binary image (step S6).
