PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital camera capable of preventing a focusing accuracy from beimg degraded due to conflict of perspective and also preventing the focusing accuracy from being degraded due to camera shake and noise, and to provide an automatic focusing method and an automatic focusing program. SOLUTION: An image signal processing circuit 12 calculates a first evaluated value for the focus adjustment of an image-forming optical system, based on the image signal of a first area in a picked-up image, and also calculates a second evaluated value, based on the image signal of a second area included in the first area and made smaller than the first area. The focusing position calculation part 19a of a CPU 19 calculates a first focusing position of the image-formation optical system based on the first evaluated value, and also calculates a second focusing position of the image-formation optical system, based on the second evaluated value. The reliability decision part 19c thereof decides whether the perspective conflict occurs in the first area and also decides on the reliability of the second focusing position.
