MAP DISPLAY DEVICE, METHOD, AND PROGRAM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a map creating device capable of displaying a map with a different scale so that a user does not lose sight of positional relation of spots on the map. SOLUTION: A map display device comprises: a plurality of map data; a map data acquiring means; a map data memory means; and a scaled map display means. The map data acquisition means acquires the map data of the map of a predetermined scale from the plurality of map data, according to change request of the scale by the user. The map data memory means stores the map data of the map of the predetermined scale in a memory area other than the memory area in which the map data of the map are displayed on a display screen. The scaled map display means displays at least a part of area of the map of the predetermined scale on the displayed map, and for each predetermined time period, the display area of the map of the predetermined scale is consecutively expanded and the whole map of the predetermined scale is displayed.
