PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tripod step ladder which allows the operator to safely carry out work without being thrown out of balance. SOLUTION: The tripod step ladder is formed of a top plate portion 4 at an upper edge thereof, a front ladder-like leg body 2 expanded like a truncated chevron shape, and a rear rod-like leg body 3. The leg bodies are openably/closably pivoted to each other via their upper edges. Herein the tripod step ladder has a handrail 6 arranged on the upper edge of the ladder-like leg body 2 or the rod-like leg body 3 in a manner protruding upward from the top plate portion 4.
