PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a label manufacturing device which can carry out actual size matching of a label length to a part to which a label is attached under a simple construction, and a label manufacturing method for a tape printing device. SOLUTION: This tape printing device is operated in the way that a printing tape T is drawn from a tape discharging aperture 28 and a manufactured label is matched to an actual size with the part 142 to which the label is attached. The device comprises a tape feeding means 54 constructed in the way that the printing tape T can be fed normally and reversely, a drawing amount measuring means 81 which measures the drawing amount of the printing tape T, a label length deciding means 105 which decides the length of the label to be manufactured from the measurement results of the drawing amount measuring means 81, a printing means 46 which prints the printing tape T from the decided label length, and a fully cutting means 56 which cuts off the printed part of the printing tape T from the decided label length.
