Carbonyl and carbon-disulphide removal - from effluent gas

Gas is scrubbed with a solution of opt. dil. morpholine and/or C-substituted morpholines. The resultant solid is separated from the excess solution and hydrolised with at least the stoichiometric quantity of water into CO2 and H2S and the original morpholine which is returned conventionally to the process. Pref. the scrubbing temp. is 15 - 80 degrees C and the hydrolysis is pref. performed at high pressure at a temp. above 120 degrees.
