<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a process for detoxifying a composite industrial waste containing earth/sand, glass, metal, plastics and the like, having a broad particle size distribution ranging from 10 mm to 10μm in particle size or less, for example, like automobile shredder dust. <P>SOLUTION: The industrial waste having the particle size distribution ranging from 1μm to 10 mm and containing glass of 30 to 95 wt.%, plastics of 5 to 30 wt.% and metal and/or metal compound of 0.5 to 10 wt.% and clay are kneaded, the obtained cake is sintered for 1.5 to 5 hours until the temperature reaches 600 to 1,200°C, and a detoxified sintered cake is obtained after naturally cooled down, the obtained sintered cake as it stands or after crushed is used as a backfill, or the cake after being crushed is formulated in a cement as a part of an aggregate. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT</p> |
