PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a navigation apparatus in which map data can be easily modified without putting unnecessary pressure on infrastructure. SOLUTION: The navigation apparatus is equipped with: map data; a map data acquisition display means; a map modification information acquisition means; and map display modification means. The map data includes prescribed map information having two modes: an unusable mode that cannot be used as map information, and a usable mode that can be used as map information. The map modification information acquisition means receives map modification information distributed through broadcasting. The map display modification means, when receiving modification information, switches the two modes in the prescribed map information.
