PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a process for manufacturing a stator core in which iron loss of a core made of a powder magnetic body due to compressive stress can be reduced by simple processing. SOLUTION: In the process for manufacturing a stator core, compressive stress is loaded at least once onto a split core 3 at a preliminary compression step before the split core 3 is fixed to a motor, or the like, thus reducing iron loss of the split core 3 due to impact of shrink fit stress at the time of securing. Strength of compression at the preliminary compression step is set such that the stress generated in the split core 3 by compression falls within the range of 50-500 MPa. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
