PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a network adaptor capable of switching an image processing apparatus between a power-saving state and an ordinary state, attaining power saving for the image processing apparatus without a power-saving function, and establishing a communication protocol whereby a network and the image processing apparatus can factually make direct communication with each other. SOLUTION: When image data pass through the network adaptor 200, the network adaptor 200 converts a transfer destination MAC address B for particularizing the network adaptor 200 into a transfer destination MAC address A for particularizing the composite machine (image processing apparatus) 302. The image data received from a router 304 pass through the network adaptor 200 and are transmitted to the composite machine 302. Thus, when viewed from the side of the router 304, the router 304 has only to build up Ethernet (R) frames in the entirely same state (Refer to Table 1) as a state of transmitting image data by using the network adaptor 200 for a transfer destination similarly to the case with the energy-saving state so as to eliminate the need for any particular setting and adjustment.
