PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical disk drive which records a play list to an optical disk and enables a user to easily grasp content in the optical disk also with another device without the user's troublesome operations. SOLUTION: When a PU head 2 records picture data to an optical disk 100, a control part 4 generates, as a play list, picture data themselves which are reproduced for ten seconds at prescribed intervals. This play list is generated by acquiring the encoded picture data which pass through a recording and reproducing part 3 are acquired for ten seconds every five minutes and then sequentially storing them in a storage part 6. In this case, the play list becomes a list of tangible picture data. In another method, the control part 4 determines the prescribed intervals with the addresses of the optical disk 100, also determines the several seconds to be ten seconds for reproduction from the addresses, and generates, as the play list, the addresses of the optical disk and the time of ten seconds for the reproduction.
