PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical device which guarantees positioning accuracy of an optical member, while suppressing increase in size, and to provide an image display device having the same. SOLUTION: The optical device 100 bends light flux by optical members 19a, 21a, 102, 104, 106, and 108, the optical device 100 having wall surfaces 51a', 51b', 51c', 51d', 51e', 51f', 51g', 51h', and 51x' provided enclosing the bent light flux, and an image display device having the same are disclosed.
