PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device for estimating electric wire corrosion, which estimates the weakest part and degree of corrosion of the electric wire by the exhaust gas that is exhausted from the exhaust gas exhaust installation, using a simple constitution and at low cost. SOLUTION: The electric wire corrosion estimating method for estimating the corrosion by the exhaust gas comprises: a date obtaining part 100 for obtaining wind data 10 and exhaust gas data 12; a concentration of the exhaust gas distribution estimating part 200 for calculating the concentration distribution of the exhaust gas at the regarding region, based on the wind data 10 and exhaust gas data 12; and a weakest position estimating part 300 for estimating the position of highest concentration distribution of the exhaust gas on the electric wire as the most corroded position i.e. the weakest position, referring to the calculated exhausted gas concentration distribution data 14.
