PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a deodorant for a food with strong odor such as kimchi. SOLUTION: Food is effectively deodorized with the deodorant in which a spinel type composite metal oxide, whose particle size is not more than 100 nm, consisting of manganese, cobalt and copper (and nickel), and a gas adsorbing agent are mixed.
