PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an on-vehicle music tone generation apparatus, capable of effectively generating the music tone for entertaining a passenger, when the passenger gets on a vehicle. SOLUTION: Based on detection results of sensors (detecting means) 191 to 194, a CPU (a control means) 170 controls tone generating of a tone source (a tone generating means) 150. When the detection results of the sensors 191 to 194 satisfy a prescribed condition, that is, when action of the passenger is performed for satisfying the prescribed condition, the CPU 170 indicates a prescribed music tone to the tone source 150 for generating it. Consequently, by appropriately setting the prescribed condition beforehand, tone generation is controlled according to an action status of the passenger, when the passenger gets on the vehicle, and the musical tone is effectively generated for entertaining the passenger.
