Dehydration of a continuously flowing stream of coal tar by exposing it to the action of ultra-sonic vibration having an acoustic energy density of at least 0.5 Watt/cm3 for a sufficient time to cause agglomeration of drops of water finely dispersed throughout the tar into drops large enough to permit them to rise to the surface, more especially by heating the tar to 50-60 degrees C and subjecting the tar to ultra-sonic vibration for 0.5-1.5 min.
|
