Metal melt treatment in hermetically - sealed casting vessel

Steel melt is treated in a casting vessel having means for stirring the bath by injection of a gas. Means are provided for casting the steel from the vessel when the treatment is completed and the vessel has a lid for protecting the vessel from the atmosphere during the treatment of the bath. The lid has heating lements for keeping the bath at a predetermined temperature and also an outflow nozzle for gas with a controllable opening. Consequently the pressure in the vessel not only prevents air from entering but also suits the steel treatment being carried out.
