The device has a thermoelectric unit (1) such as peltier unit with two surfaces (1a, 1b), where one of the surfaces (1a) air-conditions an internal space of a vehicle. A temperature difference develops between the surfaces, when an electric voltage is applied at the thermoelectric unit. The other surface (1b) is thermally coupled with air that is discharged from the internal space through an exhaust channel (8). The surfaces are thermally coupled with heat exchangers (3, 6).
