The ratchet has a ratchet head (2) connected with a handle (3). A ratchet wheel (5) is pivot mounted in the ratchet head. The ratchet (1) has a switch device for the ratchet wheel. The rotating direction of the ratchet wheel is reversible by actuating the switch device. The switch device is formed as rocker switch.
