A method for correcting a tilt of a face image in a photographed image is provided to generate various images according to the taste of a user by using the face image whose tilt is corrected and a new background picture by correcting the tilt of the face image when the face image is tilted in the photographed image and integrating the corrected face image in a certain background picture. Candidate face images are searched from a photographed image, and a face image and a tilt of the face image are judged on the basis of face feature information among the searched candidate face images. The face image is oppositely rotated by the judged tilt of the face image, and the tilt of the face image is corrected(S3). The face image whose tilt is corrected is synthesized with a certain background picture(S5,S7).
