A torque converter having a lock-up clutch for a hybrid electric vehicle is provided to use driving force of an engine and a motor as a driving source by using a dual type lock-up clutch. A clutch(1) is used for transferring or blocking driving force of an engine. A front cover(5) is rotated by the driving force. A rotor hub(3) is coupled with the front cover. An impeller(7) is coupled with the front cover. A turbine(9) is opposite to the impeller in order to transfer the driving force to the transmission. A stator(11) is formed between the impeller and the turbine in order to change a flow of oil from the turbine to the impeller. A lock-up clutch(13) is used for transferring directly the driving force of the engine or/and a motor to the turbine. The lock-up clutch includes a disk plate(71) coupled with the inside of the front case, a piston(73) moved to an axial direction, and a frictional contact part(75) disposed between the piston and the disk plate.
