An apparatus for preventing manipulation of a telematics device in driving is provided to prevent a driver from easily operating the telematics device while the vehicle is running. An apparatus for preventing manipulation of a telematics device in driving includes a GPS(Global Positioning System) receiver(11), a controller(12), and a manipulation restricting unit(13). The GPS receiver receives GPS signals from plural GPS satellites. The controller receives the GPS signal from the GPS receiver, calculates the speed of a vehicle based on the GPS signal, and outputs a control signal for restricting the manipulation of the telematics device based on the vehicle speed. The manipulation restricting unit receives the control signal from the controller and restricts the manipulation of the telematics device according to the control signal.
