<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate the receipt of spread spectrum responses of significantly different received signal strengths. <P>SOLUTION: A secondary station is provided which comprises a reception means for receiving a message from a primary station and a transmission means for transmitting a transmission signal as a spread spectrum signal in response to the reception of an invitation from the primary station.
