<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a developing device capable of maintaining a moderate toner charge amount, capable of ensuring good image properties over a prolonged period of time, and capable of suppressing toner scattering and toner adhesion to a developing roller. <P>SOLUTION: The developing device comprises: a developer consisting of a magnetic toner and a magnetic carrier; a magnetic roller 16 for forming a brush of the developer; a developing roller 17 for forming a thin layer of the magnetic toner; and a photoreceptor 19 which holds an electrostatic latent image, wherein the magnetic roller 16 and the photoreceptor 19 are set apart from each other and the magnetic toner is allowed to fly to a surface of the photoreceptor to develop the electrostatic latent image. A magnetic powder has been internally added to the magnetic toner particles, the magnetic powder has an average particle diameter of 0.01-0.50 μm and a hexahedron shape, each vertex and ridge of the hexahedron have a curved surface shape, and the magnetic powder has straight-line portions at the circumference of a projected image of the hexahedron. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
