PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data transmitter and a data receiver controlling peripheral equipment of the data receiver by incorporating particular characters in E-mail. SOLUTION: In an E-mail transmission and reception part 17, the particular characters are inserted into text of E-mail to be transmitted, and a file storing processes to be carried out by a device having received the E-mail is attached as an attachment file in correspondence to the characters. The processes cover not only display in a display part 15 and generation of speech from a speaker, but also instructions to turn on and off a backlight of the display part 15, instructions to turn on and off a backlight of an input device 16, and an instruction to vibrate a vibrator part 18.
