PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent parts or the like from contacting a blade excluding the operating time of a sudden fall stop device constituted to lock the blade to a guide rail when a wire is cut. SOLUTION: In the upward turned state of a turning body 8, the tip part of a blade guard 92A abuts on a vertical part 2a of the guide rail 2 earlier than the tip part of the blade 91, but a projecting part 921A of the blade guard 92A retracts into a body part 920A when the force of pushing the projecting part 921A into the body part 920A is applied to the tip of the projecting part 921A. The tip part of the blade 91 is locked biting into the vertical part 2a of the guide rail 2 by setting the turning force of a blade assembly 9 by an energizing means larger than the force of an energizing means for projecting the projecting part 921A of the blade guard 92A from the body part 920A.
