PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a floor joint apparatus which can positively prevent a joint plate for covering a joint portion from protruding in excess of a boundary line even if the joint apparatus suffers from a tremor of an earthquake or the like, is safely available without opening the joint portion even if a tremor of widening the joint portion occurs, and automatically returns to its original position when the tremor ceases. SOLUTION: The floor joint apparatus is formed of a support recess 8, a support joint plate 10, a support joint plate bearing body 13, and a joint plate 16. The support recess 8 is formed in a joint-side upper surface of a retaining wall 6 arranged in the vicinity of a boundary line via a building external wall surface 3 and the joint portion 5. The support joint plate 10 has one end thereof supported by the support recess and the other end thereof located at an area close to the external wall surface of the building. The support joint plate bearing body 13 has an upper portion thereof pivoted by a portion close to the other end of the support joint plate, and a lower portion thereof pivoted by a joint-side lower portion of the retaining wall. The joint plate 16 has one end thereof slidably supported by the support joint plate and located at almost the same location as the one end of the support joint plate in normal times, and the other end thereof vertically movably mounted on the external wall surface of the building.
