PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an opening/closing mechanism of a suspended sliding door, which enables the suspended sliding door to be airtightly closed with no gap between a floor surface and the suspended sliding door in a closed position. SOLUTION: A suspension bolt is assemebled on a suspension unit A by screwing a screw rod 29 in a female screw in a fixing nut 35. The fixing nut 35 has an internally threaded hole in the center. The suspension bolt includes the screw rod 29 and a pinion 30 fixed to the leading end of the screw rod 29, and is provided with a male screw with a pitch corresponding to the internally threaded hole of the fixing nut. Racks 50 and 51, which are fixed to a guide rail 13, have rack teeth 50a and 51a which are in height positions to face the pinion when the sliding door 11 is suspended, and which have such a length as to allow engagement with the pinion to a full closing position from a predetermined position before the sliding door fully closes a door opening 10. In the opening/closing of the sliding door, when the pinion and the rack teeth are engaged with one another so that the suspension bolt can be rotated with respect to the fixing nut into which the screw rod is screwed, the suspension bolt is axially moved depending on that rotation, and the sliding door is hoisted/lowered by the distance of the movement of the suspension bolt.
