PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for bonding a diamond optical device in which distortion occurred during bonding is decreased since it can be bonded at low temperatures, thermal distortion occurred during using is also small by virtue of high thermal conductivity, and sufficient bonding strength is provided by virtue of high-temperature resistant bonding. SOLUTION: The method for bonding a diamond optical device is provided in which when a diamond crystal 31 for X-ray diffraction and a diamond, crystal 32 for distortion relaxation are bonded by pressing and heating, irradiating respective bonding surfaces of the diamond crystals 31 and 32 with a metal nanoparticle cluster as a bonding material from a cluster source and forming a reaction layer on each of the bonding surfaces.
