PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simple and economical dry treatment method using ozone gas and achieving an excellent bleaching effect comparable with that attainable by chemical treatment. SOLUTION: The surface of a bleaching object wood material is wetted entirely with water, and ozone gas is brought into contact with the surface of the wood material with retaining the surface in a wet state. High-concentration ozone water is formed on the surface of the bleaching object wood material so that the surface is bleached highly-efficiently with the high-concentration ozone water.
