A mobile terminal containing an active RFID(Radio Frequency IDentification) transponder is provided to use an unused spare SAW filter for a purpose to detect RFID signals by using blocks for processing mobile communication signals with blocks for processing RFID signals in common and to simplify an active RFID transponder circuit by enabling high-power RFID signals, more than 1 W, to be outputted through an HPA(High Power Amplifier). A mobile terminal having an antenna, an antenna switch part(10), a SAW filter(20), an RF transceiver part(70), and an HPA(110) as blocks for processing mobile communication signals comprises an RFID transponder(100) and a baseband processing part(90). The RFID transponder(100) transmits and receives RFID signals to and from an external RFID reader through the mobile communication signal processing blocks, and executes modulation, demodulation, and signal processing for the transmitted and received RFID signals. The baseband processing part(90) periodically monitors whether RFID signals are received through the RFID transponder(100), drives the RFID transponder(100) by using a monitored result, and controls a path for the processing of RFID signals.
