A torque converter including a damper for a hybrid electric vehicle is provided to enhance durability by improving a structure of a stopper. A torque converter for a hybrid electric vehicle includes a damper. The damper includes a drive plate, a driven plate(53), a retaining plate(55), and a plurality of springs(57). The drive plate is coupled with a spline hub and includes a first stopper. The driven plate is coupled with a turbine hub and includes a second stopper corresponding to the first stopper of the drive plate. The retaining plate is coupled with the driven plate and a lock-up clutch. The springs are disposed between the drive plate and the driven plate in order to absorb circumferential shock of a rotary shaft.
