<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an assembly or an MEA device in which not only coolant fluid having a lower purity than required in a conventional technology can be used, but also coolant fluid formed from a mixture of water and a high-boiling-point solvent can be used, and an adhesion of a sub-gasket with an MEA lasts long. <P>SOLUTION: The assembly or the MEA device is composed of a membrane and two electric catalyst layers on both sides of the membrane. Each area of the two electric catalyst layers is smaller than that of the membrane. On each of both sides of an ionomer membrane, at least one sub-gasket is arranged in a non-catalyst area of the MEA and an edge of the ionomer membrane is sealed between the sub-gaskets. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
