PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing an electrophotographic toner excellent in charge stability and fixability in continuous printing. SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing the electrophotographic toner comprises: a step (I) of melt-kneading raw materials including a binder resin and a colorant; a step (II) of cooling a kneaded material obtained at the step (I) and pulverizing it in the presence of inorganic fine powder; and a step (III) of classifying pulverized powder obtained at the step (II). The binder resin contains a polyester obtained by condensation polymerization of an alcohol component and a carboxylic acid component in the presence of a monoalkyl tin compound having a 1-18C alkyl group, wherein the content of dialkyl tin and trialkyl tin compounds present as impurities in the monoalkyl tin compound is≤2 wt.%.
